Responsible Gaming
One of the key objectives of BetRise is to create a safe gambling environment for all our players. This is not just to satisfy the conditions of our license, but to also to keep you safe from harmful gambling patterns and the potential issues this can create in your personal life.
Warning Signs - what does problem gambling look like?
| What you might notice: | How you might feel: |
|---|---|
| You lie about the amount of time or money you spend on gambling | Suicidal ideation |
| Gambling is starting to take priority in life | Preoccupied with gambling / unable to concentrate on other obligations |
| You gamble when stressed, or to avoid stressful situations | Unable to stop or out of control |
| You chase losses or winnings | Moments of clarity and shame followed by further relapses |
How to self-assess if you have a problem with gambling:
| What you might say: | Consider/Ask yourself: |
|---|---|
| Just one more bet and I’ll withdraw | Never chase losses. Take a moment to step back and reflect before this next bet. |
| Did I really spend that much this month? | Would a limit prevent this next month? |
| I’ll take some money from my savings and put it back next month, because I’m due a win. | Gambling outcomes are never guaranteed, and we would never recommend gambling on credit or with savings. |
Problem Gambling Questionnaire:
- Do you find yourself gambling as a primary way of making money?
- Do you find yourself wagering with funds meant for daily living expenses?
- Do you find yourself spending less time with family and friends in order to gamble?
- Have you ever stolen or borrowed funds to gamble with?
- Do you gamble when under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or when tired, hungry, lonely or sad?
- Does gambling cause you to feel depressed, anxious, hopeless or angry?
What to do if you assess you may have a problem
- Responsible Gaming Tools
- You can set limits based on deposits, losses or stakes/wagers.
- You can also self-exclude temporarily, or permanently.
We recommend you use the right tool depending on the specific harm you have experienced.
Please note that these tools are applicable for all activity on BetRise.com, including both Casino and Sportsbook.

You can read more about each of the tools we offer below:
Deposit Limit
Setting a Deposit Limit is a great way to control your spending over a set period of time, either daily, weekly or monthly. It ensures that your BetRise balance can’t be credited with excess funds from any payment method within this duration. Time periods are counted as follows.
Daily Deposit Limit applies to the period from 00:00 to 23:59 (relevant timezone)
Weekly Deposit Limit applies to the period from each Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 (relevant timezone)
Monthly Deposit Limit applies to the period from the first day of the calendar month 00:00 to the last day 23:59 (relevant timezone).
Please note that, as per the terms of our license, a consideration period of 48-hours is required after you increase a deposit limit. Any decrease of a limit will be applied immediately. If you have set simultaneous deposit limits for each period, only the lowest limits will apply.
Loss Limit
A Loss Limit acts as another form of protection, accounting for losses rather than deposits. Once initiated, the system will only recognise losses related to your balance when the limit was set. i.e. additional winnings won’t be considered.
We will send you a notification should the loss limit figure be reached and restrict further wagering as applicable. Please note that bonus money losses do not apply. Removing a loss limit will require a 48-hour consideration period.
Self-Exclusion
A more definitive way to use your Responsible Gaming tools is by activating the ‘Self-Exclusion’ feature with one of the following timeframes:
- 6 months
- 1 year
- 2 years
- 5 years
You can also request a custom Self-Exclusion period (minimum 6 months) or extend a current cycle by contacting Customer Support. Once confirmed, this will completely block access to your BetRise account and stop all marketing communications during the selected period.
If you have any remaining real-money funds in your BetRise balance, we recommend that you request a withdrawal before closing your account. KYC verification is a regulatory requirement for the withdrawal to be processed. Once a self-exclusion or account closure request has been submitted, withdrawals can only be processed upon a withdrawal request from the user, provided there are available funds and, if necessary, after the required documents have been submitted.
Opening a new account whilst being Self-Excluded is prohibited. In the event this term is breached, we reserve the right to close the forbidden account and confiscate all funds. It is possible to reopen your account after the minimum duration has elapsed by contacting Customer Support and confirming your request.
Permanent Self-Exclusion
If a permanent Self-Exclusion request is made, perhaps due to a suspected gambling problem or financial issues, the account cannot be opened again under any circumstances.
Please email [email protected] to request a permanent Self-Exclusion period.
We also suggest blocking any social media accounts that are related to gambling and/or sports betting and altering advert settings on your chosen browser. Unfortunately, BetRise cannot be responsible for marketing from external companies
Reality Check (In development)
It’s easy to lose track of time or how much you have wagered during the same session. Therefore, setting up a reality check is a smart way to remind yourself of how long you’ve been active, without necessarily restricting your gameplay.
As part of our commitment to helping you gamble safely, in the future you will be able to set a reality check for either 30 minutes or 1 hour. Once this period has elapsed, a notification message will appear on-screen informing of this duration, as well as your total wagering and profit/loss. The option to continue playing or logging out will duly be presented. Alternatively, it is possible to set your own custom frequency by contacting Customer Support.
Session Time Limit (In development)
In future you will be able to restrict your gametime per session – regardless of how much you have wagered or lost. With this feature, you can request one of our BetRise agents to limit each session by the selected time period.
Once set, this represents the maximum cumulative time you can remain logged in each day (00:00 – 23:59 relevant timezone), regardless of your activity on the site. Just before your session limit is reached, a pop-up message will appear informing that your time is nearly up. Removing a session limit will require a 48-hour consideration period.
